problem with intake
so I put one of those silicone intake piping thing on my 996, eliminating the muffler. as far as I know the install went fine, took it out for a spin it ran great, car had a noticeable power increase, but then after about 30 min of driving the check engine light came on. is this something that normally happens? the car still runs great, but the light is on, and that bothers me
From what I've read you should have disconnected the battery when doing this (Resetting the ECU). It might take the ECU time to learn the new increase in air flow. The CEL probably went off because it's thinking something is wrong with the MAF since a lot more air is (and being read) through it.
Wait for a couple opinions, but you should be able to just unplug the negative from the battery and let it sit for like 20-30 mins and then kick the car back on and the CEL should go away.

The 996 that I just bought did not come with the manuals, but I do have a sticker on the underside of the hood. The sticker has several groups of numbers, but the question is, which are the radio code numbers?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

nope none of those will help....
you will have to use you VIN to get the code... dealerships will do it... and i thought there was some websites that could do it too...but im not sure about that...

none of those codes are what you're looking for but its common practice to hand write the code there if you ever have to look it up. Call me on Monday and I'll walk you through how to get the code. You WILL have to pull the head unit to get the id code off the radio itself.
