He figured a straight out race he could take my car. It's a nice car but those G37's are a dime a dozen.

My friend just bought a G37 and said the exact opposite, he said "it's a nice car bro, but it's still not a porsche"

My friend has a new G37S, manual gear shift. I drove it around a bit. What can I say?

Felt cheap and like ****. Passenger car. No offense to owners, but it is not a sports car. It is a fast daily driver. Soft (sticky) clutch, huge weight, decent brakes, bad balance, okay interior.

Felt good driving at low speeds. Unstable and lacking sharpness at high speeds.

He thought his car was pretty fast too, so we raced from a dig, and I took him by several cars and was able to cut him off and leave him far behind.

It's a nice car but it doesn't have what it takes. It's definitely a good value, and attracts those kinds of buyers (me included when I consider daily drivers).

Cheers!

aside from the d!ck measuring, insecure points made above about valet spots, i drive a porsche u drive a nissan idiot comments...

bottom line is, the porsche 911 has a 40+ year racing, dev history. just this model. the sound it makes, the feel of the steering, the braking, the look, and again, the heritage, absolutely blows a lot of cars out of the water including the g37 coupe.

i like the g35/37 coupes. great looking cars. but to even begin to compare it to any watercooled 911 is an absolute joke. not even worth talking about really. just drive the 911 and it feels measures better than even the vaunted E46 M3. and we all know the E46 M3 is superior to any infiniti G coupe. even today. everyday.

It is a NISSAN with that heritage, and yours is a PORSCHE with that heritiage. No comparison what so ever, and it kicks it AS*.

Aww mann, why did you have to go and do that haha, yeah I understand, guess it's relative to what you own. I'm sure kids with a Turbo Neon would think the G37 was insane. If I could afford a Ferrari, do doubt I'd have one. Love the Porsche's though. I still appreciate other cars, I recently had a RX8 that I loved to drive.

Just to add, Nissan does have some racing history, they use to compete in the Le Mans series and happened to win a few events.

I've always felt the Corvette is complete garbage. I don't care if it could own my car in every direction, I don't care if they could crap on a Ferrari Enzo. Bottom line is I've always found value in the philosophy and approach of an auto manufacturer. Styling is always something we all look at, but I really appreciate the engineering and technology used. Dodge Viper? 8.3L still using Pushrods, get the hell out of here.

Haha, thought I should mention. I picked up a cheap 99 Honda Prelude to go back and forth to work, and just so I won't have to put miles on the 911. It has a couple little spots where a rock chipped away the paint so I was about to order some touch up. I wasn't really thinking, so I just posted on a Prelude forum asking what the color (it's a silver with a hint of blue) of my car is. Also mentioned to them, sorry I don't really care about this car, I just picked it up as a beater, I own a 911.

Here's one guys response:
"yeah right how often do you get in and out of your car and u cant see the paint code on ur door jamb. For someone that owns a 911, you are a moron. Oh wait, that makes perfect sense."

I guess the less of a car you have the angrier you are at life or something.

Nice ride I bet you don't get a lot of people wanting to race you! They probably leave you along! In that light, I had a M35 cut me off the other day. I guess he thought he had a bigger one! Just track your P-car one time and you soon understand just what it is capable of and how many idiots they are on the street. The G37 would be pretty sloppy on the track.

Does have a nice engine, revs out to 8.2K RPMs, in a Lotus Elise or go kart it would fly. It's just funny how many people probably have this car thinking it's a sports car. The interior layout is hideous, and front wheel drive might be the worst idea since the Mustang. But hey 28 mpg to work w/o much cost in maintenance, really can't complain too much. I couldn't really afford to buy anything nice as a beater. I'm confident I could get it to run a 14.9 in the 1/4 mi!!! haha

I bet on a G37 forum they would rip my Pcar to shreds in doing a comparison.
Absolutely pointless.

If you need confirmation on whether a Porsche is superior to a Nissan, you simply shouldn't own one.
