New shoes, suspension, SSK, and exhaust

Thanks to my buddy Eric at Supreme Power Parts for making the pcar feel like a totally different car!!

That was the longest 6 weeks ever waiting for the Work Brombachers to come in from Japan. Swapped out the H&R coilovers for new PSS9's, which feel waaay better for my taste. Got the B&M short shifter and evo shift linkage in as well and swapped out the stock exhaust for the Evo exhaust. So far the exhaust sounds pretty good, noticable difference from stock of course.

People tell me these n/a 996's are slow and modding doesn't yield crap for power gains. Which is all true, this car will never have as much power as my other beasts either, but the sheer fun of driving it is enough for me. So I'm completely satisfied with just pure sound and "feel" mods in this whip.

looks very nice, i'd say the results were well worth the wait. Going back for an alignment in about a week I take it?

Yep need to get that alignment after I see how much the Pss9's settle in and if I like the height. Any places you recommend in LA?

Hey there. Your new set up looks great. As for alignment work, I recommend Darin @ west end alignment in Gardena. The number I have on file is (310)808-9233. He is pretty well known in the Porsche racing community. Awesome work and fair prices. Good Luck

yes, I highly recommend Fab (owner) at EF1 Motorsports in Signal Hill. He's right near the Costco off Cherry Ave exit. Super cool guy and he does not charge much. Plus he's familiar with aligning to 996 GT3 street specs, which is how I have mine set. He does not do corner balancing fyi.

btw if you have your suspension installed by Fab the alignment after a week is included n/c.

Since you had both H&R coils and now the PSS9s......can you elaborate on the ride difference that you are noticing?

Also, how are you liking the SSK?

BTW......looks great!

Funny, I had Fab do my old clk years ago! Great guy, and good prices. I just wish there was someone closer to the downtown LA area.

Since I only drove on the H&R's for less than 500 miles its hard to say really what the differences are. One thing I can say is that the ride on the PSS9s is a lot more tolerable than the H&Rs. H&Rs felt a lot choppier and not as safe at highway speeds if you hit bumps. Plus the PSS9s you can adjust the dampening whereas the H&Rs you cant, just wish you could adjust the rebound. H&Rs only real plus is you can slam the hell out of the car (if that's your thing).

The SSK is awesome! As mentioned before, probably the best mod on our cars as they should have come from the factory this way to begin with. Its like going from driving a ford truck to a real sports car.
