Help Me Decide!!!

Hey,

My name is mike. Back in the day, I had an extensively modified B6 Audi A4. I then sold it and purchased myself an E46 M3. I love that car but sold it after only owning it for about a year to buy my current vehicle, a Ducati. I live in FL and thought a bike would be fun. However, I am now in the market for a car. I have saved up $36k and have about $10k of value in my bike, which I intend to sell. I love it to death, which is the likely path, should I choose to keep it. Anyways, with a grand total of around $45k, what would you buy? I am currently thinking either a C4S or a E46 M3 and spending the change on modding it. Your thoughts? I need to decide this in the next month, so the clock is ticking!

I had a fully modified supercharged m3, and I just got an 02 C4s.

Put it this way, you can't even compare the m3 to a C4s... The only thing I kind of liked better about the m3 was that it was rwd (fun to mess around in sometimes) and that the car had room, plenty of passenger/trunk space. The powerband is also really cool, but it gets annoying having to rev the motor up so high...

With the C4s, I am loving how the car grips very differently than the m3 in the turns, and I feel so confident driving the Porsche, with the m3 I always felt a little nervous...

Get you a nice 996 that has been modded a little. The prices are good now. I looked for a year and bought my car 1 week after the test drive. It pays to be patient.

Ferrari 348. Excellent bang for the buck in my opinion.

That was my initial opinion

I actually felt extremely confident in the M3. Mine wasn't modified though... I like the predictability of it. From what I understand, the C4S, inspires TOO much confidence. Does the C4S handle better than the M3?

I would never buy a modded car. Modding it is all the fun! Its like seeing your own creation take life.

Did I mention it is a daily driver? However, I was considering the Maserati coupe for a little because of how close the Ferrari dealership is. I need a car I can beat the **** out of daily.

The C4s is pretty hard to get sideways, not enough power...

M3 would be nice for a daily drive imo but then again, you are modding it

i like my C4S a lot. mine is a daily driver. i don't track it and it's plenty fast enough for me. it's also very solid and stable up into triple digit speeds. also -- and this is just a personal preference -- i rarely like going sideways.

but if you need cargo space, forget about it. and you won't be taking on many backseat passengers unless they're double amputees.

Get a low mileage '02 and then have RUF install their SC (its warrantied for 2 years)

OR, you can throw your 45K into a tax free muni bond and gain the equivalent of 7-8% annual growth (after tax benefits), then take out a loan on a car from Pentagon Federal (rates for used cars staggeringly low—from 5%) and finance the car keeping your 45K as investment and still buying the car

If you can scape up a little more money, you could probably grab a 996 TT.

Haha. Yea I would likely take the back seat out, as it is a joke. All I need is space for a book bag and a lady friend
