996 C4 Road Noise - Dynamat
#4
i put that on my rav4 and it made a world of difference in eliminating road noise. i did the entire floor pan, most part on the interiors of all four doors and partially on the rear fenders. it was well worth it since that car is really loud.
is your 996 that bad? my c4s is not bad at all. even the road noise on my wife's boxster is not bad.
are you doing for stereo reasons?

Generally it is not loud until I hit I-80 from sacramento to reno. Because of the rough roads over the passes it gets so loud you can't even listen to music. Thanks for the info I will keep you posted on the results.

I think standard C4. The car came with a Gemballa kit. I sold the wing kept the skirts. do you think upgrading suspension could help? It is my daily driver and I am not a speed demon. I just appreciate the refinement.

There are better, cheaper, lighter, sound deadening materials than dynamat. B-Quiet comes to mind. The doors are the easy target.
Tires are one of the biggest problems as the P-Zeroes wear down they scream.

Great I Bought 100sqf some sound deadending material recomended by my local stereo stoe. I will go for the doors first then continue as needed. I hadn't thought of the tires although now it seems like a no brainer!
Thanks very much for the tip I will post results as they come in.
