Question can I paint the front bumper coolant?

Hello guys,

Just got a new after market bumper. It has grills so I can basically see through. Can I paint the front coolant to match my car color black?

thanks for any inputs!

paint the coolant? do you mean the radiators?? If that is what you mean, do not paint them as it reduces cooling efficiency.

Post up some pics of your bumper. you could probably add stainless mesh to the openings and paint the mesh.

Yes the radiators. Here is a picture I can currently find on my laptop.

Looks like these might work.

Aluminum has a great cooling efficientcy and painting the radiators might significantly reduce that, being, the result of painting might retain the heat and could keep the overall coolant temp higher. I wouldn't recommend.

I couldn't find it at the warehouse. I also think this doesn't fit with my original plastic inlets. How about I just paint the pipelines? The radiator doesn't bother me as much as the pipelines.

I think that looks tight with the radiators and piping showing through... hell if I had that bumper I might get the unpainted mesh put in.

just my 2cents

re - pipe painting... that shouldn't be a problem because pipes are not designed to dissipate the heat.

Letting it show looks 1,000,000 times better than putting mesh grills in. The mesh KILLS the look of any p-car for me, unless it's a dedicated track car.

Where did you get your grilles from? Or does anyone know where I can get grills like this for my new bumper?

^ dude you need to chill out and go have a beer! Better yet post up some pics of your entire car so we can check it out. IMO the pipes and stuff looks good.

Hey if you want to make a quick improvement get rid of those yellow turn signal bulbs in the headlights

you can buy the high-end stainless mesh from my friend Brian at www.afterhoursautomotive.com - number is on website. You'll have to cut / mount it yourself but it is worth the effort. Nice weave-style mesh, and he has it in different size weave openings. 1/4", 1/8" etc. If you're in SoCal area Brian can custom install the mesh.
