Value of a 2004 C4S?
Value of a 2004 C4S?
Hey Guys,
Can I please get your opinions on the pricing of a 2004 C4S with roughly 1k miles? What would you say is a reasonable price range for me to offer my neighbor?
I want to buy this car but if there are poentials pitfalls in buying a 996 C4S then I will just simply stay away from it...please let me know what these are.
Should I expect reasonable maintenance costs? Please let me know what
the pros and cons are.
Thanks very much,
James

Only 1k miles on it? what's your neighbor's phone number??
I don't think these cars are overly heavy on maintenance (from what I've studied in the forums here, rennlist, renntech, etc). Get a PPI before buying for peace of mind, heck the car is practically new though... and buy an extended warranty. Then you'll have nothing to worry about except finding the next twisty road.
Mileage seems the be the #1 dictator of price and options #2 on pre-owned pcars, so with such low mileage maybe expect to pay several thousand more over a comparable '04 with say, 25k miles on it.
G/L with purchase. Maybe you'll get a steal!

My neighbor told me it was a leftover at a dealership and he bought it new in 2007. He said he wanted 70K. Isnt that overpriced? But rest assured I will get a PPI if we do decide to come to an agreement.
$70k??? Homeboy is wayyyyyyy off the mark. Perhaps he overpaid when he bought it, who knows.
Try looking it up on Edmunds TMV.
BTW, if you are thinking of spending $60k+, why not look for a 2005 997 with low mileage?

Why don't you took on autotrader or ebay at what $60k will buy you in the way of a pcar. This might help you frame what that car is worth, realistically.
what are you looking for and what is your primary reason for upgrading? Nice 930 you got there, so I'm sure you're no stranger to pcars.
