Anybody ever look into a whether it is possible to fit an 997 Alacantra steering wheel into a 2003 996?

Suncoast sells an alcantera steering wheel for the 996. I don't know if it is the GT3 model, but worth a look.

I don't like the 997 steering wheels at all. the best looking steering wheel so far is the one in the CGT or the one that was offered in the 996 as an option and then soon became standard.

What about the Cup wheel. If I had some extra in the mod budget that would be my choice...

True, but then you could get GT3 seats and full harness, that way you'd never reach the wheel...

I like the way you think. Unfortunatly I have to maintain access to the rear seats for my kids. I can't wait to see the new GT seats that fold forward.

Ditto that... Good luck with the wheel search, I'll be watching what the result is.

The wheels don't fit right in because the 997 steering stems are about 1" in diameter, and the 996 steering wheels are about 13/16" (eyeballed).

We have Alcantara offerings in both. The 996 get the wheels with red or blue stitching, and the 997's get the ones with grey stitching (with or without the RS stripe).
