The Plastic Hinge (center console)
I know there have been articles written about the dreaded plastic hinge breaking on the rear center console...is there an easy way to repair?

There is a metal hinge retrofit kit.

This happened a while back on my 2001... Just go into your dealer and have them "add" the kit (it's part of a TSB) to your console...

really easy to install, you need a rivet tool though.

I did it myself when I changed out my rear center console and gave the new one the metal hinge. I think the kit is a whopping $15 (996 552 960 01). You will need a rivet gun ($10 from your local Lowe's) and the TSB that has the instructions. PM me if you need a copy of the TSB.
