You are much better off to go with the Clear Bra. I used XPEL and you can't even see it on the car. Its the greatest thing ever.

Totally agree, get a clear clear bra, it wont look so 80's as a regular bra.

I've had both and for extended trips, I prefer the "ugly" bra to ionsure protection to the clear coat/paint. My mirrors still have the plastic film and they're full of chips under the film. For driving around town I remove the bra. Try Colgan-I think ther're about $120 for a full bra.

Ran across this, may be a good cost effective option for what you want. Never tried it, so not sure if it's any good, but may be worth a try for the price.

(I thought I posted this yesterday, but I don't see it now - maybe I'm just loosing it...)

I have a 3M clear bra on my 996 and love it. On trips to my beach house I usually throw on the regular bra for added protection. Hey I'm totally **** about my car, blame my mom since she potty trained me before I was 2yrs old. Kids who were potty trained at very early ages have been known to be very **** retentive! A little off the topic but you get the point.

Check with your local dealer. I got one from Champion a few months ago. It just goes on for long roadtrips. It may be ugly to some, but the way it prevents rock chips makes it beautiful to me. (I actually think it looks pretty cool)

Wow!
Has anyone tried this?
It won't blow off at speed like my OEM Bra did.
I was loyal to it until then.

A clear bra is around $1000 and an old school black bra is around $120. It always surprises me when guys just say "get a clear bra" with no mention of its cost. They're not comparable purchases. Same purpose. But, that's about it.

+1

Also, if the front end isn't already pristine, there would probably be some additional body/paint work needed.

They also make bra's in color to match the car.

A 3M clear bra shouldn't run you a grand. I had mine installed about 1 year ago and it ran me $400.00. Maybe your 1K bra is lined with gold or something. But serious I don't think it should cost 1K.
