Lightbulb i want to trade my 02 c2 but !

i went to couple dealerships to trade my 02 carrera c2 to e46 m3 convertible.
carrera has 59000 miles on it , brand new tires , bose , 6 cd changer , full leather , triptronic ...

one of them gave 24K and the other 28K to my car.

what you guys think ? and what is the number that i should let my car go ?

Thanks

My buddy just picked up an '02 C4 with 19K miles for 40k even. He seems to have got a good deal after searching for the past few months. I think you can get 34-35k from a private party.

For a dealer trade with your miles and the upcoming 60K service, 28K is probably in the ballpark ...

Tiptronics in general also seem to a be negative in resale ...

As I just said in the other forum to a similar problem, sell it yourself if you want to get a fair price. Dealers lowball, end of story.

Consider....

Consider that if you trade in your car you dont have to pay sales tax on teh trade in amount. I dont know what sales tax is where you are at but here it would be...$28,000 x 7.25% = 2,030. You would have to sell the car for $30,030 to get the same value.

It does seem low but its a dealer. Its easy drive in with Porsche, drive out with BMW. No test drives. No negotiations. No BS. Your call.

Good luck!
