nervous mis-shifting?
I'm new to manual, lovin the new ride. Every time i drive it very "aggressively", half the time when i shift to second, it doesn't go in. Is the adrenaline making me not step on the clutch all the way (my timing coordination is off)? Not pulling the shifter straight down? Or is there something in the physics of the car that makes it harder to shift at high rpms?
I'm probably gonna throw a B&M ssk in there, somebody recommended a clutchstop also. What's your guys input on this.. feel like such a novice.. need your expertise!! = ]

You should really learn to shift properly on another car before you really drive aggressively in your Porsche. These cars can be really expensive to learn in. After a few more months, then I would recommend a little more aggressive driving and the SS kit.
Make sure your car is sufficiently at temperature before you do any aggressive driving. The synchros being cold can cause a problem with shiftings. (ie., difficult) And naturally, I parrot what is said above, make sure to aquaint yourself with the proper shifting of a Porsche, it's like no other manual tranny I have ever experienced. A ssk probably won't make things easier if you are having a problem now as it can be a bit on the notchy side (which is inherent) and not alleviate any bad habits you might have developed.
Smooth shifting when the RPMs are up does take some coordination and good timing. Since 1st gear is quite a driving gear and not just a starting gear...go easy and take your time for now until you get the swing of things. Good luck and congrats on the new ride!

I agree with all the comments. I picked up my 996 about six weeks ago. I took it easy for a few weeks to really get the feel for the clutch take up action. Unlike any I've driven in the past. Now I'm feeling more at ease and am relearning heel-and-toeing.

Try driving slower to get acquainted with the car, clutch, tranny, brakes, etc before you start hammering it. Right now, you are an accident waiting to happen.

It happens to most people once in a while... I was with a group of us last Sunday morning heading down to Suncoast Tech show.. On I75 Sunday morning early and I saw Ted take off to my right... I went after him and we wound up side by side at 150 when I was pulling away... I should have been way in front of him... But when you shift from 3rd to 6th
