Curb rash
Curb rash
Got it today. Took a corner a little too close and clipped the right rear. Tore a pretty good rip in the tire and took a bit of the wheel with it. Sucks pretty bad.
The question is can I buy just one wheel or are they all sold in sets of four? Will a salvage yard or used parts place be a good place to start my search? I was planning on new rear tires anyway so this just moves up my time table a bit. Any of you N. Jersey guys know of a good installation outfit that will take a drop shipment from Tirerack.com?
Thanks. I guess I need the Driver's ed course.

I thought it might be ok because they include tires as well. I checked Carnewal's web page and the wheels alone are $2300. Granted these tires are not the best, but they're not that bad.
Any ideas?

Which Porsche Rims due you have?
Let me know the part # and /or model and size. I can get you a Porsche Factory new rim for 25% off Porsche list. If you want a used rim, I have several good used rims in stock depending on what you have. If you want used and I don't have it there is also a company down here in Florida called Ernie's Alloys they have hundreds of used rims. Call me and I will see if I can help you. Thanks
Bob,
I think the part number is 000 044 600 55 or 000 044 600 34. I'm not sure. I need to get under there and check.
They are the 18'' carrera lightweight wheels as seen here:

I'll call you tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Nova,
Unless you really chunked the snot out of the wheel, you might be able to get it fixed. If not try:

Thanks all.
I spoke with Bob at Foreign Affairs and he suggested the same thing ( that I get them fixed rather than replaced) especially if I didn't do too much damage. The scrape is only about an inch long and 1/16th deep. Anyone in the NY/NJ area know of a place that repairs rims?
Bob, Thanks for the assistance and I am anxiously awaiting my new B&M shifter.

Gery - received this link from another website. Haven't called yet but will be asking a local shop tomorrow whether there is a place closer. Having two new tires put on tomorrow then adding the shifter.
I'll let you know what I find out.
