Certified Pre-Owned 996

Whilst looking for a used 996 I came across this label in a recently offered 03 996.

Does anyone know what it really means in terms of car quality or condition?
What are the actual Pro`s and Con`s with it?

No cons other than the extra cost...

It just means that it is certified by Porsche. What this means is that it goes through an inspection process and brought back to Porsche standards for a used car.

Because of this, they extend the warranty to 6 years or 100,000 miles for the car.

Given the cost of Porsche stealership service work, the CPO can be well worth the price just for the peace of mind. I bought my '03 C4 convertible as a CPO and it has already saved me from the bill for 2 cats. (The dealer charged PCNA $1850 each.)

I have just learned from a Porsche guy at Porsche Zuffenhausen factory that they would even re-spray parts of the cars or exchange bumpers etc. if they are not in the best shape - which sound good!

However, he also told me that the 6 years warranty disappears when you buy such a car from a non-Porsche authorized dealership! Means - nothing worth?!?!

A Porsche warranty is only valid if you buy the vehicle from a Porsche authorized dealership or transferred from a private individual. Buying from any other dealer voids the warranty.

Good point! Sorry Wolfman, I didn't notice your location. Warranty rules are country specific.
