Boxtaboy,

That's looks like a very good job. From here it looks like a professional did it. Not to mention you saved yourself a pretty penny.

It's cool if you want to keep it to yourself, but using Duplicor isn't a difficult mod and it's really inexpensive.
Although I have never used it, Duplicolor has a very reputable name. I'm sure it turned out great. A few other popular companies are dupont and glazerit. I always encourage people to try it themselves. It's not rocket science you just need a little patients and be careful not to get any overspray on the car.

You hit it right on the money. Prep is everything. A clean and smooth service is your foundation. Therefore, its got to be perfect before you even look at your paint gun.

BTW, i sprayed the color, let dry overnight, put the decals on and lightly sprayed with high temp clear coat.

Mr. Steve,

I get the stickers from A@G sign in Pasadena, CA. I think they are a little on the pricey side. I'm sure you can find them for less somewhere else. When you think about it they are simple vinyl stickers. Get a couple extra just in case you don't line them up perfectly. I always encourage people to try it and save themselves the extra $$$

Thanks

Board Sponsor, Aaron at Suncoast carries the decals in 3" (C2+C4) or 4" (Cayenne,C4S+Turbo) white or black PORSCHE lettering. They have Red. Yellow thermal paint is hard to find these days - maybe try Damon at Tirerack.

My Indy just painted mine for me using the kit and it is a bit of a hack job; brush strokes, PORSCHE decals are upside down and broken, it's actually comically bad. That's $50 for you. Most people wouldn't notice, but some of you would laugh and point if you saw these.

Still, at the end of the day your capital outlay is $50, so you can either try again, or send your car out for professional powder coating. I'm not inclined to get that fancy since they are usually covered in black brake dust anyway.

I use a product your not supposed to use in CA. Soo please forgive me if I don't share it with you. However, there are some great products that were mentioned earlier that will do the trick. As far as the order in which you do this it goes as follows:

1. Begin by very thoroughly cleaning the caliper.

2. Remove caliper or tape off all surounding areas in order to avoid over spray.

3. If you use dupont for example, mix according to directions, fill your gun and spray approximately three coats. (you won't need very much, try and buy the smallest amount the paint store will sell you.)

4. To be 100% sure let it dry overnight and place decals. (Don't rush it and put finger prints on them while installin stickers.)

5. It's finally time to spray the clear. I would recommend 2-3 coats of clear depending how heavy you lay them.

I hope this helps, take your time, be patient and it will come out perfect.
