mis-shift, burning smell.

I accidentally went from 4 back to 3rd, rather than 5th. Rpms shot up, but I caught in before it went too high. In the process, I think I rode the clutch. Moments after, this burning smell lingers for a bit, and then disappears. Did I damage anything?

I drop from 5th to 3rd all the time (rev-match, play time) with no problem. I think your clutch will be fine, I took it that you were not redlined at 4th when that happened?

I was at about 5500

which was why the tach skyrockted. Instead of depresseing the clutch immediately, I hesitated and held it before fully depressing it to get into a higher gear, thus riding it. I guess it was kind of like feathering it while smoking the tires. I did this to avoid hitting the rev limiter on a downshift. I am just worried about the smell. I never do any clutch antics, and I am consistent in rev matching.
