I think I found a great deal local to me for a new front end. More details once everthing is 100% for sure.

I understand your thoughts on the front end, but I personally love the Turbo front on the 40th and on the TT/C4S. I on the other hand am not a big fan of the fixed wings in the Aerokit I and II. I like the turbo pop up wing and the GT2 wing and the GT3 RS wings, but none of those are really available for my car so I'll stick with the stock pop up for now.

I promise you the X74 will not beat you up. I can't speak for crappy Houston roads, but we get pretty nasty weather here in CT and the roads aren't the best.

If you have bad potholes that you are afraid of bottoming the frame of the car out on, then maybe it's too low, but I again I must stress that while it is insane on the track(zero body roll) it is still street friendly.

On another note, what's the deal with your name and Audiforums? I heard some crazy stuff went down over there....you causing trouble?

So I went with a Turbo Bumper with help from Andrew @ Diamond Detailing. I have some final questions:

1. Can someone please explain to me what I need to do about the eyebrows? Is it possible to reuse what I have? Do they need to be modified or painted? Do I need to buy new ones? If so, from where?

2. Do I need to paint the metal bumper at all? From all that I've gathered it will need to be cut, and I am going to install the 3rd radiator, so I'm not worried about seeing anything through the center grill as it will need to be open.

3. Should I get turbo brake ducts and try to get them to fit, or just got with the ones that are already there?

Thanks!

You do not have to worry about the brake ducts at all - I think the nose should come with the eyebrows - If not you need to buy them

check with brandwine on the brows. i think they were pretty cheap there. call around. prices varied to extremes.

no paint on the metal bumper underneath if you're cutting. nothing shows through.

turbo ducts are optional. like i said before, the stock ducts show through more if you don't trim them back a few inches. it's just cosmetic and they're not required. it bothers some people. i'm not one of them hence my set for sale.

Your current eyebrows will fit. Just be careful when you remove them. My shop was able to re-attach them. I didn't see any reason to spend an additional $150 for two new eyebrows.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I painted the metal flat black with high temperature paint. I did it carefully through the bumper openings with a foam brush. I should of had the body shop do it when the old bumper was off.

You guys are great. Thanks!

I'll try to reuse the eyebrows(can anyone show me a picture of that part?)

So the only part that confused me is this"

"no paint on the metal bumper underneath if you're cutting."

If I ask them to paint it, do I not have to cut it? I like the sound of that if that is the case!

just saw the thread for the first time, i'm glad you chose the Turbo bumper (no hindsight). for anyone to say that using that nose would be "trying to be something the car is not" is complete and utter malarkey. most all individuals on this board have performed some mod on their car, and at that instant, the car is not in it its original state. i personally like the turbo nose on the car, i think it looks cool. for those that don't, great, for those that do, great as well. but don't let anyone tell you that it doesn't "belong" on the car. it's all a matter of your tastes, i finally learned that myself.

regards and enjoy your new front bumper

it's my understanding that the bumper would not fit properly unless it was cut. i had mine cut. it did not need painting since you can't see it.

others say that it fits fine without cutting, and that if you paint it, you can't see the metal through the holes in the bumper.

most everyone i have known or read about doing this mod, including myself, had the bumper cut.

if it fits without cutting, i'd paint it and just leave it be.

Hmmm, I'll have to really think about it when the time comes. I just don't want to get it and then regret it. Zero body roll is nice though!!

Me cause trouble?!

Actually it was on Audi Life and the guy who was running the forum chased almost everyone away. Long story short... the guys at Audiforums took that site over. Not sure what it's like now.

you can see them on your car now. they are the black plastic strip that runs under the headlights. they are just diff enough than the turbo ones where the stock ones ones won't pop in, unless you glue them
