porsche noob!!!

I would like to start off by saying I am in love with my new car. I have been looking at a 996 c2 since November now and finally pulled the trigger. I am coming from the Subaru commmunity where I have been for the last 7 years. It was hard to let my old car go, but once i sat behind the wheel of a porsche I was sold. I purchased an 01 996 c2 with the factory aero kit and 18" turbo twist wheels. Since these pics were taken I have already got smoked marker lights and a muffler bypass system that I will be installing tonight.

The old ride:
7 years of work and sourching very rare jdm parts led me to this

Congrats on your C2. Hope you don't plan on driving it in the snow like your subaru...

HA! This car hasn't seen the rain in 5 years and I live in Seattle. There is no way it will ever touch the snow except maybe for some pics and thats it.

2001 996 c2, just over 18,00 miles, factory aerokit, smoked marker lights, muffler bypass, h & r springs (i think, old owner wasn't sure), 18" turbo twist wheels.

what is the best intake system? what do you all recommend?

next upgrade will be some 19" Techart Formula GTS wheels and Toyo t1r tires

Congrats, looks really nice. I like the EVOMS intake, a little pricier but it's a nice kit. A lot of guys run the K&N as well.

Maybe you need the C4S more with that kind of weather up there.

NO WAY!!! I am loving RWD. I had AWD for 7 years and was looking for some change. Besides there is no way I would drive a porsche in the snow.

Congrats on the p-car. I believe you will find a deeper level of enjoyment with each time you drive it.

After many years of driving a Vette, I picked up a 99 C4 MK1. Its very refined and behaves much differently on the road than anything I've ever driven, but very rewarding.

I've installed a K&N cold air kit and am looking into performance mufflers now.

Funny thing is after getting a car that I have wanted for years, you'd think I'd be satisfied. Not even close. I already want a tt.

Next time.

sweet car congrats! i just recently picked up almost the same car for a DD. i love it too.

if you dont drive it in the snow, you dont know what you're missing!

(50k miles in 20 months...driven every single day!)

(and don't bother saying you can't do it in a rwd car. i had a loaner cayman with snows and i did 1.5k miles in one week when we had over 2 ft of snow in NH)

nice swap - the subaru is a nice machine and is less worry if you take out a side of it in a snow bank! tread carefully but i can also say they are fun in the snow
