c4s questions

guys my friend is looking to pick up an 02 c4s

just some questions
first off, how much do they weigh ?
what kind of RWHP are they making ?
is it a pain in the *** to go to RWD (manual transmission)
do they come with 996tt brakes ?

what kind of power does an exhaust, tune, and intake give it ?
also, what is the redline of the car ?

thanks

Weight: 1467 kg / 3234 lbs.
BHP ~ 320.
RWHP good question -- anyone dyno their stock C4S?
Comes with TT brakes. I love them.
TT suspension and widebody curves too.

RWD...why not just get a C2S? Seems much easier and would be properly integrated. (Hmm. Update -- it doesn't seem like there is one.)
I've heard of someone with a TT removing the front drive (not sure how) but it screwed with the PSM...

Redline: 7300.

Tuning? Good question -- someone else who knows can jump in.

But you mention RWD and more power... so the 2004 Special Edition should be considered: 345 BHP and lots of nice kit.

More info on tuning might be here:

or http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...splay.php?f=60

But I'd love to know more about tuning too.

Check out the 996 Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_996

Also, I don't think the 996 series had a C2S model - only C4S .

Dante12 -- you seem to be spot on... I did a quick search of the 996 and there doesn't seem to be a C2S. Seems there was in 993 and 997 models... at least I think

And the 2004 Anniversary Edition seems to be a narrow body (has the Turbo nose).

I learn something everyday!

Yup, no C2S.
40th anniversary is narrowbody with turbo nose and X50 engine package (340 hp!)

advertised weight range - depending on options - is 3240 to 3450 lbs. On a set of corner weighting scales, with options, it's actually close to 3600 lbs fully laden.

RWD conversion is easy - several TT guys have tried it, and a few have gone back to AWD. (shaves about 121 lbs off if done with differential, 70 lbs if drive shaft only)

Redline? None that I'd know... One of my friends is constrution engineer at Porsche Weissach, Car development Center, Germany: Quote: "No better engine and no better face of a new Porsche! Forget about the aircooled models".
Well, I trust him.

Well, I got my C4S to about 3170lbs with a little more than a 1/4 tank of fuel, and I did nothing "major" to get it to that weight. So I think the car is about 3400lbs MAX.
