Got me a new clutch (C4S)
the clutch parts cost me $1250 with a new flywheel (sunset porsche).
labor was around $500 i believe... don't know the exact price as i had my oil changed at the same time.

i've never truly experienced a slipping clutch so i can't really tell you ... other than the high level description which is... you apply throttle and the revs go up but not necessarily commensurate tot he usual forward motion of the car.
i must say the new clutch, though my "old" clutch engaged fine except on cold starts... makes the car feel livelier.

Ben, my clutch is slipping. Do I need a new flywheel too? What are the things I need to just address the slipping issue. See this post I posted in renntech.org Thanks

Ok, so other than the flywheel, what else should I order? - If you have a list of parts, that would be great. Thanks
So I was debating between the lightweight flywheel and OEM flywheel. Ultimately, I decided on the OEM flywheel so that I have predictable, quiet, reliable operation. I'm usually not conservative when it comes to modifications, but in this case, I stuck with the factory goods.
The new clutch (all OEM parts) feels "springier" or has more bounce than the outgoing clutch which had close to 50K miles on it. My trusty indy specialist said the original clutch looked to be in pretty good shape. I bought my car used so it's nice to now I'm starting from fresh since I rev match, never drop the clutch, never keep my foot rested on the pedal, etc.
The car feels a livelier than before, but I can't point to any reasons why it would be so other than the placebo effect of having a bouncier clutch.

How much did it run you from A-Z?
Mystro, car looks great. question: did you take out the black plastic liner inside the rear fender vents? and also take out the heat shield between the fender and the mufflers? and how much of a pain was it to do it? too many questions, sorry. again, the car looks great.
hmmmmm, might be time for a new clutch for myself......Anyone have any recommendations on where to get the new clutch & flywheel from (sponsors or non-sponsors - you can PM me non-sponsors for the protection of the sponsors)? So, sounds like labor (Indy at least) is average at $500 (assuming about 4-5 hours of labor). As for the price of the clutch and flywheel, I'd be interested in seeing what other prices are out there for OEM clutch and flywheel. I don't track the car so I'm guessing no need to go lightweight flywheel, etc.? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Boo,
I recommend you buy through philcoy@sunsetimports.com. They are a Porsche dealer, but got smart and sell at x% above wholesale locked. Just make sure you get the pressure plate bolts and everything else that makes sense new. My indy recommended I get a new flywheel as well since I'm already paying for labor to get into the tranny anyways.
I researched the whole lightweight thing. If you're a hairsplitting want the best performance I can get and sacrifice some daily comforts like noise, then get it. I'm not one of these hairsplitters so I was cool with the OEM setup again.
Price difference should be nominal between aftermarket fly and OEM fly.
Best,
Ben

Ben,
Thanks man. I'll reach out to Phil and let him know you sent me his way.
I might just throw a SSK in there while I'm at it.....
