Got me a new clutch (C4S)
So I was debating between the lightweight flywheel and OEM flywheel. Ultimately, I decided on the OEM flywheel so that I have predictable, quiet, reliable operation. I'm usually not conservative when it comes to modifications, but in this case, I stuck with the factory goods.
The new clutch (all OEM parts) feels "springier" or has more bounce than the outgoing clutch which had close to 50K miles on it. My trusty indy specialist said the original clutch looked to be in pretty good shape. I bought my car used so it's nice to now I'm starting from fresh since I rev match, never drop the clutch, never keep my foot rested on the pedal, etc.
The car feels a livelier than before, but I can't point to any reasons why it would be so other than the placebo effect of having a bouncier clutch.

better response off a cleaner and smoother plate. for us old air cooled timers, there used to be an issue of the "exploding" factory clutch, but after market stuff really solved a major problem there. as to your car, if you're not tracking it the oem seems the best deal to me. enjoy....

Jesus, all clear signs of aging.
Next thing you know it's too loud

Nice feeling knowing that you're set for another 50K, if you were to keep it that long...
i can't give you a straight answer so sorry... in cold starts, driving off... applying the clutch ... i would feel this shudder but once the car was warmed up... no real issues at all. the clutch now actually feels a little lighter, springier than before.

Hmmm.. Cold start shudder, sounds like a new clutch was a good call. I think I'll try the Light weight version when it's time for me to replace mine.
with the system I had on my 911SC my wife could hear me coming home about 2 blocks away. she'd even bought a high-end Pioneer unit for me because she thought I needed something I could hear when driving around. Normal conversation was pretty limited, but I was mostly by myself in the car. Exhaust sound was sometimes better than the radio. I've put the oem stuff back on as I'm selling the car. I get home, walk in, and scare her half to death 'cause she didnt hear me coming. I friend once told me that if I lived in her neighborhood the neighbors would be all over me. Too loud? Nah......
That's exactly what I've got... shudder when cold, heavy feel, some slipping. How urgently does this need to be addressed? I'd like to put another 2500 miles on first, then it goes into storage and I can do it myself next Spring.
