Hey- what's up! Congrats on owning my pcar and welcome to the six

Do you need to change it for legal requirements? If not, I would say just leave it- you will never look at it anyway because it is too small to read while driving. You'll use the digital display and I already set that for Kph.

How long is it going to take to ship from US > Sweden?

You've got a good car there... Try emailing Gert at www.carnewal.com or looking at the site, I'm sure he can source something for you. There's basically 2 options, screen printing directly onto the dials after removing the old mph stickers or replacing the stickers with new kph stickers. The screen print is the more expensive but better result option. In the UK there's a guy doing it for aprox 350Euro and it's a perfect job (Porsche use him for colour changes). Each option means taking the instrument cluster off and apart though which isn't hard. It might be an option to do that and send the plastic part that the stickers attaches, meansno car for a week or so... $2500 is WAY too much...

Gustav- Hey tell your sis to check with a few of the local car dealers to see who they use for interstate automobile transport- or just look it up on the internet. You would put the car on a big semi truck, and you have the option of going "open carrier" or "closed carrier". Closed carrier will cost more, but ensures the car does not get road grime or any chips during transport. It should cost about $1500 or so from LA > NJ, and probably take a week. They can't ship it out of Long Beach here in California??? It's a major shipping port!

The digital speed readout can be toggled from MPH to KPH and the analogue guage is a joke anyway, too small to read with any accuracy. In 8 years I don't think I have looked a the analogue guage but once or twice. So unless it is a legal requirement just toggle the digital to KPH.

Contact Phoenix International freight forwarder. They can probably load it onto a container for you in LA and handle all the way to SWE.

For the speedo, start with buying a km/h gauge face. It may not read out accurately, but it will give you the look of a euro spec car.

Ok, I think I´ll put that on ice for a while with the analogue gaugh..

There is several way to take direct from LA to swe. But all boats are full for a long time ahead. Thats why we got the option to take that strange way.
I´ll take a closed carrier for sure.

But thank you for your help.

You can get speedo's on ebay.de every once in a while but they will have to be matched to the car. Forget about the container protecting the car - my vette was scratched taking it out and they sat on the dusty lot for a while during processing. Do roro and save big bucks - my C4S arrived better roro than my Vette in a container.
