Have the fabspeed tube with paper airfilter with FVD mufflers, nice sound. Sounds good at WOT and great just crusing around.

"ruf"

Wow, talk about "RUF"! That SpeedArt clip is pretty serious change from stock....I love my Fabspeed muffler/header setup, but that's awesome!

Just installed K&N 63-7000, first impression? Gotta love the WOT roar, power gain? Not so sure. They claimed a max 23+ hp gain, but I am no expert in butt-dyno. Anyways, just the sound alone is well worth the mod...best of all, kit is free ^_^

Lots of happy customers with the Evolution Motorsports intakes.

We have all their intakes including the 996 one with free shipping if you're interested in purchasing one.

gsieck,

Have you had issues with your MAF as a result of improving your car's breathing? If so, what did you do to remedy the issue?

My K&N has triggered my CEL a few times. Each time I pull the sensor, clean it, and I'm good to go for a week or so. This last time seems to be a few weeks. Hopefully I this won't continue to reoccur.

Your MAF is likley about to go. I had the same experience and then had a complete meltdown of MAF and potentiometer. Since the MAF has been replaced I have had no problems. MAF/Potentiometer problems were unrelated to cold air kit--just normal wear and tear on a car w/50,000+ miles.

I've had 0 issues with the K/N kit on 996 and 997. It's a great kit for the $ and has a nice mean sound at WOT.

Another vote for the EVOMS unit. I have had one on my '02 for about 6 months now. No issues, I really like it.

I have Had 0 issues with the K&N kit...If you over oil the filter that will trigger the MAF error...I Love the sound right off the line WOT it Screams...i am building a custom enlosure for the filter to only suck air from the down tube not the engin bay.

With mufflers i noticed a gain(butt dyno)

CAI with fabspeed exhaust

I have a fabspeed exhaust in my 996 C4S. It is very subtle compared to the PSE...the PSE sounds much louder.
Will the EVOM CAI + my fabspeed exhaust help with the sound?
