Traction Control?

My '99 996 definitely had traction control.
This '02... I'm prettty sure it doesn't.
I thought it was a standard option on these cars, could mine possible be disabled?

You mean PSM? Post a picture of your dash's horseshoe... upper left should be a PSM button if you have it. I do not believe it was standard in 2002 on a C2.

Traction control was only available on a limited number of cars between 99-01....I think you had to have the limited slip option. That set of options was replaced by PSM and TC+LSD are no longer available. LSD came back for the 40th Anniversary 911s with the X51 engine kit as well...but no TC+LSD combo.

How about BOSE sound. This car has the 10-speaker setup but there are no BOSE logos anywhere... is it BOSE indeed?

Nope, not standard. A 02 would have PSM (Porsche stability management) if your car has it there would be a switch in the upper left of the horseshoe.

My 02 has Bose badges on both front speakers and I think on the subs behind the rear seats, check for the option code I think it's M680?

I'm used to the 99's PSM and I hit a banked on-ramp today, started to lose the back end.. it woke me up, haven't had to use track maneuverability on the streets in a while.

Oh dicey - yeah that wakes you up pretty fast... esp when you are not expecting it! My last car (s2000) had no TC, or even electronic throttle - it made me much more tame in daily driving. The new 4S is the exact opposite - you try and lean on it, and lights go off, the AWD kicks in, the PSM blinking away... lol.
