please be honest? PSS9 question with factory 18" wheels
when a porsched is equipped with Pss9 bilestin shocks and lowered a bit, when you go over bumps, does it feel like you are being thrown towards the sunroof. I have the coilovers in my M3 (different brand and springs in back), today coming back from LA to orange county, it was some ride, going over bumps, i was being pushed towards the roof, i don't like that feeling.
I want to know how the PSS9 will react to bumps with 18 factory wheels?
currently i have no issues with bumps and my factory 996 (factory suspention).
Thanks for all suggestions.

On my PSS9's small bumps are felt less and big bumps are felt more. I have 18" factory wheels. The beaty of the PSS9's is the ability to control how the shocks react. Stiffer or softer.
not much pot holes, but i am talking about uneven road surfaces
mostly on the freeways (close to LA more), and when you take the lagune beach fwy 133 going on 405 towards south, that exit, i feel every uneven surface and i keep getting thrown up towards the roof with my M3 and coilovers. I have not gotton the PSS9 for porsche yet, since i am afraid it be rough like my M3. M3 does not have pss9, it has some other brand. in the back it has springs only.
does anyone take that exit to know what i am talking about?
133 fwy laguna beach going south bound on 405...?

Yellowbmr,
I had the PSS9 on my C2 Cab with 18" Sport Techno wheels for a few months and "loved" it! The ride was much "better" than the stock suspension. Since the shocks are variable dampening they're softer during the initial load (first half inch of travel or so) and much stiffer after that. Also keep in mind that the setting are adjustable so you can make it as soft or hard as you like.
I'm waiting on ordering a new set of HRE wheels before I go with the PSS9s on my TT Cab. So it's not a question of "if" but simply a question of "when".
Good luck dude!

yellowbmr,
That catapult tawards the roof feeling is from insufficiant rebound dampening. All that energy stored in the spring when compressed has to be controlled on the rebound or it comes back up way too fast. Look at www.bilstein.com for the details. Rember, on the PSS9's, you'll have nine settings available. If you decide to get a set for the 996, I have them in stock and on sale for $2599. Are the dampers on the BMW adjustable?

no, it does not have the dial
like the PSS9 does. It's made by a japaneese company, i forgot the name, i gotta take the wheel out, but it's yellow shocks, and in the name has a K and a Y,
something like that.
anyone wants to guess?
