Stock vs modded
David- what rpm range is it loudest inside your car? On my 996, there was resonance at around 3200 rpm but dies out after 3400. So in top gear / light throttle at about 3500rpm it was pretty quiet. Have you noticed your car pulls stronger yet?
Kasaasta- They are not "wife approved" mufflers by any means. They are louder inside the car than regular mufflers but nowhere near as annoyingly loud inside the car as bypass pipes.
If you want something very sporty sounding for DD, I think they are great.
Videos in my sig below, one outside the car and one inside the car.
PS my fiancee hates them too- Just as she hates the lowered ride and suspension upgrade. LOL

Car definitely pulls stronger.....and I notice how much faster redline comes up on my rpm's also
PS - agreed my wife hates the suspension and lower ride, the sound is just "icing on the cake"....what the hell is wrong with these women?
i love mods. =D
we bought our 99 996 BONE stock. it's been fun choosing the mods to have installed on it. it would be nice to have purchased one with a few mods but either way, it's fun to pick and choose and get them brand spankin' new. something fun about getting new toys!

I had a modded Audi TT Quattro in the past and APR provided me a prototype cat-back exhaust that was extremely LOUD. Frankly, too loud, it was unbearable. Even the shop owner said that it was the loudest he'd ever heard in ANY car
. Well, girlfriend didn't complain (has to do with the fact that she saw that I was very, very annoyed by the exhaust), but said it was just a bit loud. So I guess she would manage those AH mufflers
I must have a good girlfriend, because she likes my cars lowered!
VT-
BoxsterGirlie- You qualify as one of the coolest chicks on the planet
Kasaasta- I tend to look at mods as "enhancements"- A few tweaks here and there makes the car much more driveable IMO (a good coilover suspension is probably the biggest improvement). So think of it as adjusting the car to your particular preferences. That's my "justification and rationalization" anyway...as if I need it, being the car mod junky that I am ;p
David- Yeah that is the same thing I experienced on my 996, which is why I'm such a die-hard ground-pounder for pushing the AH mufflers now.. When I put my stock cans back on to sell the car it was like someone pulled the "fun plug".. lol - Hey I might have to go with the new KW HLS suspension- you can raise the car or lower it with a button push. Sweet! http://www.kwsuspensions.de/uk/index.php
