Any Evo SC's with plenum out there?

I am about to put on a plenum with my SC as I do an air filter change (pain in the butt) and wonder if anyone else has done it? I have discussed this with DeputyDog who did a dyno before and after the Plenum with SC and he felt favorable toward it and gained some Hp. I talked to VF and they just have not done any testing. I will report any good, bad, or indifferant results. I am also going to fabricate a plastic sleve that is perforated back in the crowded space that the cone filter sits to protect it from the hoses and wiring harnesses that sit there and facillitate the installation of the new filter. My little simple catch can has kept most of the oil out of the intake but not all. Will

Id like to see your catch can setup... Im having a hard time creating space for the catch can and would love some input. Would also like to see that sleeve as well...TIA

BTW, I have the plenum with the SC and it does change the delivery on the power... did not dyno, but the power is def much smoother I didnt like it at first but on the track it is a big difference since the power is even more linear.

I just put a plastic tee in the hose that comes out of the crankcase vent to the intake pipe. A short threated nipple with a cap drops down out of the tee and can easily be unscrewed and drained. Most of the time it is dry, but occasionally it is full of watery oil. I just have no room for a big catch can. I think if I filled the nipple with a screen of some kind it would catch more oil. I will try a simple screen mesh. I try to not fill the car with oil to the top of the indicator and get less oil in the intake. Will

Your biggest weakness against the Z06 is gearing, regardless of how much power you are pushing.

Speed performance is an all around measurement of a car's ability in a straight race. Alot of people, in an attempt to claim that their car is faster than another come up with these specific speed tests, such as "from a roll", from "60 to 120", etc. They are laughable, IMO. A car's true speed performance is measured from a dig to top end. If you are not ahead at the end of the race, your car is slower.

My blown 996 is faster than a Z06 for a specific speed and distance, even tho the Z06 is far ahead of me at the end of the race. I guess I could claim that my car beats the Z06?

Do to your car the things that make it how you want it to be, ignoring what other cars are out there. There will always be someone faster than you and there will always be better cars than you drive. The mods you do to your car are to impress YOU and not others.

you are 100% correct with what you say but it would be nice to race one down the 1/4 and beat them!

the z06 are fast and if it has cams and some other relatively cheap mods they are faster

my car just went into the shop for the new v3 vf kit and when i get her back on tuesday i am expecting her to be much faster but definitely not faster than a Z06.

stock Z06 will do 0-60 in 4 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 12.4@116mph from this months car and driver magazine. our supercharged cars will do 0-60 in 4.1seconds and 1/4 in 11.5-11.9seconds

with mods the z06 is much faster

i would just leave the z06 people alone

^^^ Leave them alone only the fast ones, but i wont know who is fast till i run a few. And i get itchy to run anytime something with power comes by and looks at the car and snickers at it. as long as i can hang with them down the track then i am happy to say io have the glam and the power!
