Porsche owners. Help needed.
Porsche owners. Help needed.
What am I doing wrong? Due to medical reasons, I need to sell my Porsche. (Sad day in the household) My porsche has been on the market now for around 5 months with no real strong offers. One guy wanted it but could not get financing on this old of a car. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Below in the link on traderonline.com. Thanks for the help. Car has only 37K miles and is in excellent condition.

Sorry to hear about your circumstances. Have you tried listing on autotrader.com and cars.com?
Carmax will also buy your car at KBB value, they appraised my 996 pcar at about $1k less than I actually sold it for private party.

Thanks for the input.
I already have it in aotutraderonline.com (see above link)
I paid 34K for it back in Dec. 2006. I know I probably paid too much but it only had 28K miles and was in excellent condition. I am a big fan of pristine vehicles. I now owe around 29K and dont mind taking that loss on it but I think trade in value is around 21K or so. I can not afford that big of a loss, I will keep it. Also, I do not have to sell it, but it would help us out financially if I could sell it. I will be out of commision for atleast 6 months and it would be sitting there collecting dust.

I assume you are talking about trade in value?
......
You can get 02 here in Houston with about the same mileage for what you are listing your car for. I would take a lot more pictures and drop the price. Also might try cragslist.
Just my 2 1/2 cents.

No offense meant, but I don't believe that. Show me more than one '02 with less than 40K miles that is in even half decent shape for anywhere near $28.5K. I agree that his price is high, but let's be realistic about what the market will bare.
My 3 cents, Right now it's a buyers market on auto's and homes. People are shopping for a "deal", but there are also buyers looking for pristine examples and will pay for that. Add some pictures and use Craigslist. It's free and you can place ads in different cities, which may attract buyers not seeing your current ads. Good luck with the sale.

I agree pleople are looking for deals right now. It that is what you need to sell the car for then you just need to be patient. If you post on craiglist and you need too, make sure you delete your old ad and post a new one every Friday afternoon. That way it will stay towards the top.
Other 911's for sale
On traderonline.com, there are 2 other 911's for sale in the Austin area. Both have more miles and both are priced higher than mine (one is a convertible?) I feel mine is priced right for the year and mileage.
I appreciate all of the input from everyone, thanks again for the help.
Any other suggestions? I will add some more pics to the online ads, that is a good idea.

Don't know if it would be worth it to you, but having some semi-professional pictures of your car will set your ad worlds apart from other peoples'. Just clean it up real nice and have someone with a DSLR and some Photoshop skills produce some eye-catching pictures for you. Definitely more intriguing and eye-catching (read: more people will click on it) than a regular point and shoot in your driveway.
+1 on good quality photos, it really helps. Whenever I place a car ad that is the first thing I do. Second thing I do is write as much detail and history about the car as possible. You have to make it stand out from the crowd.
