install turbo engine in NA 996

does anyone know if it is possible to replace a NA 996 engine with an engine from a turbo with the proper transmission? I ask because I might be able to get a totaled 02 turbo and I am told the engine, trans and some other parts made it through the crash.

I recently saw a factory Turbo 996 ordered in NB form. So my guess is that the engine will fit. The car is listed for sale on the RUF website if you want to check it out.

This is the same thing you hear on all forums. It is expensive, it is a lot of work, blah, blah, blah. I say if you have the $ and the access to it go for it. I have done other swaps with other cars over the years and I can't say I haven't considered it with my 996.

On the comment about the IC, wouldn't one fit under the factory bumper and if not I am sure it would under an aftermarket bumper. I thought if you added a SC you had to add an IC so I am sure there is a way to make it work.
Good luck.
I actually know one of the guys (haven't talked with him in years) that works at RUF in Dallas. They know their stuff

Sorry, but with the price of turbos today it would be foolish to retrofit a NB (even with a free engine). Did you see the MSRP on that RUF? Are you kidding me?
