996 C4S or 997 C2?
996 C4S or 997 C2?
i love big butt wide body porsches. let's just say the price was equal, which would you choose? i don't need an awd car, but since the c4s is the only widebody option besides the higher priced turbo, it gets to stay on my list. the 997 c2 is perfect, rwd and wide body, BUT it's out of my price range of what i want to spend. i will have to wait until the '05s depreciate into the mid 40's range.
'02+ 996 c4s now or 997 c2 in about 2 yrs?

In the immortal words of Wimpy from Popeye " I will gladly pay you Tuesday for the Hamburger I'll eat Today"
C4S Today and sell it in 2 years for the 997 C2. Drive what you can now, then drive what you want later.HC
996 , that back is really stunning. the sound is actually a lot better dan a 997 C2 imo. And no matter wich one you choose, it's not a new model, yeah ok, it's just a facelift, but still.. 996 4S all the way!

, my kind of guy. thanks for your opinion guys. i do love the headlights of the '02+ a little more, but the interior of the 997 is such a step up.
I suspect that 997 prices are gonna be well into the $40s this time next year. Most dealerships, at least in the bay area, are marking up used cars by $10k-$15k, so there is a lot of wiggle room... (my car was originally posted at $47k, and I paid waaaaaaaay less than that.)

Sorry. My car is an 03, so it's not the same thing. However, most of the dealerships do overprice their used cars a LOT. PM me for more details. I had a feeling that Stevens Creek was $10-$15k over what they'd actually sell their used cars for... 996 and 997.
