the underside of the hood is splattered, and the contents of the trunk all messed up.
what causes this to happen?
how to cure?
car hasn't overheated ever. so i only noticed the problem maybe a few days after the accident took place.

well if it runs...the battery didn't explode...not coolent if it's like the GT3 and the reservoir is in the engine compartment, power steering also in engine compartment...most likely brake fluid or window washing fluid...definitely get it checked but I would think that clutch/brake fluid would give you a light...btw...brake fluid is not friendly to you or your paint/carpet...if it smells like coolant then you have lost a radiator or hose...depending on how much coolant loss it won't overheat right away but eventually you will get stuck..get it checked...

check the liquid, smell it. slide your fingers over it... color... how slippery and smell might help find the source. Was anything in the trunk when you got hit (groceries? ect?)
did you notice the same wettness anywhere on your pants... I know if I was hit where the wettness would have came from!!

as i said, the discovery only occured after at least several days since event happened. but the smell all over was like coolant.
is there not a coolant reservoir in the front? because i assumed it was coolant and frankly forgot about this whole mess for a couple of months!
i know, i know, very irresponsible on my part. the car has yet to skip a beat and there is coolant in the tank. so i guess out of sight...

no coolant reservoir in the front...only radiator(s) and hoses...reservoirs in the front are brake fluid and washer...you need to determine if it is coolant or brake fluid...brake fluid smells very different than coolant...you can remove the cap to your brake reservoir and see what it smells like...if not brake fluid you have a radiator or hose leak...what kind of accident did you have?

I think the radiator hoses are outside the trunk area. Is going to be either the brake fluid or the windshield fluid container with a major leak. Maybe you forgot to tight the cap and it's spilling all around. Brake fluid will feel a little oily and will eat your paint. Windshield fluid will be watery.
