I have the stock speakers that came with the premium audio package option. Off the top of my head i don't know the option code but i can post it later. I also have the amp and cd changer.

Found an old post on Rennlist.

490 MJ 01 SOUND SYSTEM MJ 02- SOUND SYSTEM HARMANN ANALOG

692 CD-CHANGER "PORSCHE"

Alpine used to make a hu with sat radio built in...I bought one in 2005. I'm a big fan of Alpine products and they fit just fine.

Not to hijack the thread, but do either of those Alpines' faces flip backward so it's not evident that the car has an Alpine head unit? I have a cabriolet, and I'm afraid it wouldn't last long in plain sight. (MCM... where did you get those cup holders?)

what is it with you people and my cupholders??? LOL. They came with the car and I looked up the build sheet and I'm guessing they came on something called the Technic Package which was a $2150 option in 2001.

Mine doesn't flip back but the face pops off. The fiancee got the "large Coach purse" mod last Christmas so when we get out of the car I use her like a pack mule.

MCM - Did you move your a/c controls down or where they there before the Alpine went in? I want to move mine around a bit so I wondered about the steps to do so.

can't help you there. If you look very closely you can see the curve of the ac control as it heads into the bat wing so there's only one slot it will fit in

That curved piece is only a faceplate. The AC can go into the spot you have the cubby in. Just need the Faceplate for that. If you are moving it from above then you already have the faceplate for the upper of the lower spots.

Here is a picture of mine (ignore the RF XM unit they original owner installed). So if I understand you correctly, I just need to order the correct faceplate for the location I want to relocate to?
