This is my kind of thread. I've been doing caraudio for 11 years and I love it! Oh, back to the topic at hand. Focals are a great brand. But, IMO DynAudio, Morel-Dotech, and Rainbow sound fantastic also. I haven't had the pleasure of hearing the BA's yet. There is alot of great equipment out there. It all depends on your style of music, how mild or wild you want to go, and what will work best in your vehicle. Do you have a local shop that you know of that you can trust? I would start there if you haven't yet.

I have Hertz 3ways and crossovers up front and in the doors. Hertz coax in the rear side panels for fil in and 3 JL subs in a box in the rear. They are powered by a Audision amp. The head unit is an Alpine with ipod integration. I did the install myself and it was a bit of work but fun!! It sounds great!

My only regret is I did not install a 2din with NAV. I have a Alpine 505 in the box but I have not installed. I have not had the time..

Just to throw in a comment, I just installed the Kenwood 8120 double din NAV/DVD/TUNER/IPOD/USB in my 04 C4S and, except for the really crappy bluetooth mic, it is outstanding. Best IPOD/USB interface I've seen. For now, I've kept the Bose speakers (with an Alpine Amp) and was amazed at how much better they sound. Not great, but with the Bose Amp they were horrible.

I have an Alpine IDA-x100, and I love it. Very intuitive with a huge **** that is easy to grab, etc. But man, my stock Bose speakers sounded TERRRIBLE with my Alpine amp. I replaced them with Focals and am VERY happy, even with the alpine just powering the stock bose suck. Go 4x6 driver!
