Hey guys,
I went to a the porsche dealer and I had 35k~ , and I had a choice
to make between a very low -mileages,
a) 2005 Porsche Cayman
b) 2001 Porsche 996 ( 911)
If you had to decide between them, and they were the same color, optioned the same and in similiar condition,
which one would you choose?

I am in the same dilemma as you.
Cayman - Its newer, handles fantastic, still has warranty, looks great and a better interior.
996 - Its a 911! Classic look and feel. Truely a great sports car BUT there are concerns with the motor. Alot of them i've been reading goes pop. Also most of the depreciation in 996's have been gone. The Cayman is going to depreciate more.
Right now I would say Cayman but if i came across a clean 996 Aero then I would vote 996.

A 911 is and will always be a 911, a Cayman is other than. I wonder how many people chose a 924 over a 911 years ago under the same sort of scenario.

Check auto trader, lots of good used late model 911's in the $35K-$40K range. Thanks to the bad economy

+2. You should easily be able to find a 2002 911 c2 on autotrader. As of 10/29 you can find all the 2002 C2's on Autotrader that are in that price range by clicking on this URL: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/search...sfyc=&systime==Originally Posted by deckman
