2 More Weeks!!!!!
2 More Weeks!!!!!
Hey all. New to the board. My first porsche is 2 sleepless weeks away from delivery. It's a Black on Black 2005 Carrera 4S, Sport Shifter, Bose stereo, Sport Exhaust, w/ colored crests on the wheels.
I cannot concentrate, I wake up in the middle of the night sweating, I'm constantly daydreaming. I'm delerious.
The boat lands in New Jersey tomorrow, I'm told it should ship to the dealership Thursday or Friday of next week, so I am figuring a Monday or Tuesday pickup. Crossing my fingers, cannot take the waiting much longer.
Curious as to the first steps I should take in regards to waxing, polishing. I've seen a number of threads regarding Rejex and others and want to know what I should do the minute I pull into the driveway...other than rev it up a few times for the neighbors:-)

Congrats!! You always remember your first...
Here's a recent thread on car care:

The first word of advice I'd give you is to tell the dealer NOT to detail or wash the car. They'll probably do more damage than good especially with a black car. Better to spend the extra few hours yourself than risk some dealer car wash guy with a bucket of dirty water and an old towel scratching up your new finish.
3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner works great at removing the glue residue from the protective film, without damaging the paint.
Enjoy!!

I just got my C4S two months ago and I love it! It is an awesome platform for leaving as is or upgrading with a Supercharger. It has awesome grip and looks fantastic.
The first thing to do is take some pictures and share you new prize with your friends here on 6 Speed!
After that.. the mods begin!
New Avitar (see GreyGhost)
Rejex
Clear Side Markers
Remove the jumper which cuts out the Sport Exhaust at 30-45 mph
Short Shift Kit
New Pedals
Tinted Windows
and on
and on.....

don't forget bumper plugs -maybe a silver hood emblem.
then take a second morgage on the house, get an EVO super charger
Congratulations - getting your first Porsche is one of things you'll remember the rest of your life. Sorta like the excitment a 5 year old has on Christmas morning.
Enjoy - I'm sure you earned it.
