Mid $30Ks is going to be tough unless you find exactly the right buyer. Problem is at the price you're going to find a lot of other options. If you really like the Turbo you're looking at, chalk up the depreciation as a sunk cost and move on and plan to keep the Turbo for a long time. Waiting will only cause your car to depreciate more. There is the possibility that a GT3 or a Turbo (maybe) might increase in value with a better economy, but most likely not a 2001 911.

 

Unfortunately, "the market" could care less what your investment is. Someone looking for a car will search "the market" and will find they can find similar examples for less than $35k.

agreed. not what you want to hear but reality nevertheless. to put it in perspective, remember that there are some ferrari guys whose cars have taken a 30-40k hit in the last few months alone.
