Early Christmas present - faster than a Turbo!

The autobahn A8 was just upgraded to unlimited speed between my on ramp and my work exit. 18 miles of near perfect 4 lanes. I'm thinking that I need to upgrade from my NA C4S...

That is really cool. Let us know where you can top out. In theory, you should be able to hit 170-180 mph, right? Do a few runs at that and then see if you really need to do 190+...

164 mph is what the GPS is telling me. About the same as my old 964. Top speed is not what the car is all about though. As long as it is stable at 130 all is good. Driving much faster for long distances is not as much fun as you may believe. Eyes don't focus on objects closer than 1/3 mile away at 150, previously recognized slow sweepers have to be braced for, and worst of all is that Germany is tax free for cars attracting all of the European vacationers who do not know the German driving laws - very risky. But, when it is clear - it is good, - very, very good!

What is the published/claimed top speed of the 996? I thought for the C2 it was 178.

Well that must be ****
No need to upgrade. Just keep driving back and forth to work for anyting and evrything...bathroom break, lunch, glass of water, bathroom break again.
Only talking about a few precious minutes, nobody should even notice that you've left and came back again and again

That would be great, what a wonderful way to start and end your work day.
I am still trying to make it out there now in 09 since my 08 trip got pushed. How is it in Germany around the month of March Steve?

March is a wonderful month in Germany but a little early for the Fest season to begin.

http://www.stuttgart-tourist.de/ENG/...hlingsfest.htm

The snow is here in Jan - Feb but we have had significant snow fall in March (10-12 inches) that goes away in a day or two (protected by the Alps).

Happy to help make your trip fun - PM me.

why can't they delimit the 495 in ny =/

get it supercharged and you'll see the 195mph+ mark real fast
