Kind of like when I quite smoking! I can do that

Take it easy folks I was tongue in cheek when using the B word. I thought that was obvious. We get along fine. She just wants to reign me in a little, and I'll survive that.

She said she thought this obsession with changing out pieces of my car is becoming unhealthy and she's worried about me. She said it is the same as it was with our boat, nothing but cash rushing out the door, and I need to set a budget and stick to it.

I'm left looking inward and trying to do some soul searching. Should I stop the mods or at least slow down? It is a lot of money. These weekend fun runs and time speant learning DIY techniques cut into quality family time don't they? Should I back off a little? Or should I just divorce the *****? Trying to come between me and my car. Who does she think she is
Great thread....!
My wife gave up years ago.
Just tell her that 'Changing the materialistic stuff is what keeps her from being changed',LOL!

I'm 48. Some of our friends said when I got the car that the alternative might have been a 25 year old girl

My wife doesn't really care what I do with the car or my SUV. She just asks if we are covered financially and sighs. Keep in mind though that I have been really good (see frugal) about not modding for the last 6 months as we where saving for our wedding. Now, she really doesn't complain when I run ideas by her, she just sighs some more. LOL

Im a huge car NUT and thankfully found a wifey that puts up with it....As far as your problem...dont look inward...mod the car to hell if you want...your not cheating on her just interested in you hobby....perhaps HiSide is correct...do what you want...sleep in the car(better then a sofa)....and find forgivenss....right from the begining i told her that future ring upgrades were directly attached to car upgrades this being new cars or mods....so far its worked...everytime i buy her some redicolus peice of jewelery i get a new car or some major mod.....

Perhaps you should go shopping at Tiffanys or Kay Jewelers on the way home from the porsche Dealer....

divorce the *****. lol jk i'd say just slow it down. To me it's fun to take the time, and you don't want to get tired of your car too quick. set like a monthly or yearly budget

Explain it from an economic point of view, right now you may be able to get a nice set of Champions at a slight discount. Down the road when things recover them may be a few hundred bucks more. Your practically saving her money by purchasing now, heck down the road you may be able to sell them with slight appreciation added!:-)

Besides doesn't it make you happy to see her happy? Should work both ways! In all honesty, be reasonable and she will understand.
