All the girls I meet, They ask me what I want, my response is I'm looking for a girl that can support me and my toys.

I found out over time that complete communication with the wife on what you do and spend on your car only comes back to haunt you later. Yea at first she was fine with it...but the more I spent the less she liked it. Now it is not worth the aggrevation of arguing over what she knows I am gonna do anyway. So now I just order it and install - she does not even notice it much anymore....of course having 3 cars and a SUV in the family only keeps her guessing

I was only half kidding with my "easier to ask for forgiveness than it is permission" remark. I can do pretty much what I want, but I also dont get too carried away without having "the talk". And its not a talk about permission, its a courtesy. In the end, I'm hoping to keep her longer than the car.

"Talking about things" is a slippery slope. I know guys who have to ask permission to do just about anything - and are basically afraid of their wives.

I think the shoe comment was right on track. I don't want my wife coming to me with every shoe purchase - it would only **** me off. I see the new ones and just keep my mouth shut.

If you're not a hypocrite, then as long as everyone has what they need, you should be able to mod without guilt.

There are no pockets in coffins.

I dont talk to her about things that cost as much as a pair of shoes, thats a non-issue, however when its $3k for suspension or $8k for wheels and tires, then yes, we have the talk...

Concur.

$600 shoes add up, though.

the only mod i'd consider doing is swapping out wheels yet again.

i'd like to try out a set of HRE 590Rs with a chrome lip and brushed centers or maybe just painted silver or maybe glossy black or glossy gunmetal. not sure.
