brake wear sensor
brake wear sensor
Has anyone experienced a problem with brake sensor/brake wear indicator malfuntioning? I have experienced this when washing the car on several occasions. I recently had the sensors replaced and the problem is manifesting itself again. 2002C2.
When my lights came on at the Track (First Time at the Track). I was told that it probaly got Fried due to Heat... This is Common... I did not do anythign about it for a month or two... Whenever i would wash my car the light would go away untill the brakes heated up, then the light came back on... eventully my front pads were done and i replaced all four pads and sensors...
Thanks for the response guys, I should have added the rotors & pads are new. I was wondering if there might be any underlying electrical problem, or if the problem is in one of the sensors.
I keep an eye on everything all the time with my car, so next time I'll be doing that with the sensors.
I too replaced my rotors, pads, and sensors and when washing the car get the light at times and it eventually goes away. It's more than likely something in the actual connection where the sensor plugs in... not in the pad, the other end.
Classic clean out of the connection points very well with brake clean and a small bit of emery cloth would probably make the connections better and get rid of this issue.
Just a thought...
Cheers
