I had the same problem in the cold. I just pushed the top of the window while warming up the car and it was fine.

My apologies, they're now $179.40 at Suncoast E-parts, a 6SO sponsor. Code: 99654207504 (driver), Code: 99654207604 (passenger).

If you decide to do it yourself, remember to remove the top window stop, otherwise the window will not go down all the way. BTW, I paid around $165 over the summer at Sunset Imports in Oregon.

Same thing happened with my '02 cab recently. After all the tests it was determined to be the micro switch that's part of the latch mechanism. Unfortunately that micro switch can't be replaced on it's own; had to replace the latch.

Good luck.

Yup I second the regulator, the regulator cable is streched out to far and when it sees a signal from the micro switch in the door handle and pulls on the regulator and just pulls slack in the cable and wont pull the regulator/window down to avoid the door seal.

Had this happen when I had my 02 Carrera also and it turned out the latch needed to be replaced. Cost something like $700 parts and labor at the dealer.

Info

Do not want to start confusing the tread, read this tread with great interest since my window started to go down when I toched the outside door handle, but then right the way went back up after releasing the handle.

Same thing would happen when engaging the inside door handle.
Checked both door handle micro switches, both are working as it should.

Culprint, in the door latch, the engagement latch was sticky, sprayed silicone/lube spray into it and the system works like new, no need to remove the latch and or micro switch, took all but 2 minutes from the outside.

Hope this could save someone some time, worth a try.

Regards

Max
