evoms headers clearance question

just a quick question to those of you with evoms headers fitted (or perhaps others fitted also).
i went to install mine yesterday and while they fitted up ok the right hand side (passengers side) makes contact with a metal pipe that runs along the engine block and looks to be cooling related.
i couldnt find a way to get any gap between these at all so removed and reinstalled my OEM headers. as an engineer it seems that theres potential for issues here with a header making a metal to metal contact with another pipe. the headers obviously run much hotter than the coolant pipe will and so not only is there an issue with heat transferance into the medium within the pipe itself but also more critically, a potential for the pipe to heat and cause problems with the rubber hose joining the pipe several inches away.

how did you guys work around this, does something need to be twisted or am i just creating problem potentials when infact all is fine.

Neil, I think I was the one you bought those from... no clearance issues with them on my car either. Suncoast is also where I bought mine (They are EVO Brand). Very strange...

Hey Neil, what part of TX you in. I noticed some odd clearance issues on my 996. The exhaust was hanging really low. Changed the motor mounts now the engine sitsup much higher.

thanks for the replys guys,
david these are from you indeed im going to spend some time next week looking into this some more then. now that i know im not imagining things i can try and get to the bottom of whats going on with this. headers fit up fine, its just that one branch is touching a coolant pipe and i wanted to see if i was the only one.

chuck, im in houston. i did wonder about mounts too though im not sure it would solve my problem as the whole engine would raise up, along with the pipe that the header branch is touching.
