I need a new water pump. I saw a few drops of coolant on the garage floor. I can tell is comming from the water pump. My mechanic is charging me $800.00. Is that a fair price?

 

What is the labor component and what is the parts component. Water pump and gasket should be around $300, the coolant should be recycled, $500 labor sounds a bit high. This is an easy job on the 911, just remove the air box and there is the water pump. You can sit down while your doing it, well, most of it.

About 500.00 for labor. This is at an inde, not the dealer. I call the dealler and they quote was about 50.00 more.
