My advise......what ever your rears are.

Everything I have read says to not mix tires / tread on these cars. They don't like it.

I agree you should not mix tread patterns on a performance car.
Otherwise, stick with the good stuff - B/Stone, Pirelli, Michelin, etc.

I have tried both mixing and same sets on mine and found when putting different pairs on, the handling was more unpredictable. I had super grippy rears and the car pushed up front quite a bit compared to the even slide I get with a matched set of tires.

Try the Sumitomo HRTZ II or III. They are fairly inexpensive, a little noisy, but not loud, and can serve minimal double duty for the track.

As for specs: The IIs are 220 treadwear and are directional. The IIIs are 300 treadwear and are asymetrical. I would guess you will get about the same life with either tire, including a flip on the 220s due to the harder tread compound.

Also, I assume you are running an 8" rim. With that you can use a 225/40, 235/40 or 245/40 and still be within a few percentage points of the rear rolling diameter. Again this assumes you are running close to recommended rear tires [265/35 ish]. A half inch difference shouldn't really affect your rake too much.

Did something happen to your fronts? I get about 3:1 life out of my tires (3 sets of rears for 1 set of fronts).
