Saw a GTR driving yesterday
This is getting way off subject from the original post but just wanted to chime in since I see some North Carolina talk. Sport Auto (Lamborghini Carolinas), as mentioned above is a great place. They just opened a new shop/showroom and it's unbeleivable. I've done a lot of business with them in the past and dont know of anywhere close that compares. They know what they're doing, selling, and preaching over there. They keep a wide range of Porsche, Ferrari, and other interesting makes as well as the Lambos so it's always cool to browse their inventory. Good people too
First time I've seen one in person at all. I didn't even know it was a GTR until I really looked at it. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, but damn, that car is FUGLY. It looks like a pig. No style, no elegance, no sleekness, no nothing. It's just big, bulky, & like a blob. Not hating, just saying. What was Nissan thinking when they priced it? But worst of all, WTF was Nissan thinking when they thought they could compare it to the 911. Speed isn't everything. There's a lot of cars faster than Porsches these days, technology has advanced a lot, but that doesn't mean they're worth mentioning in the same sentence. I'd even take a Cayenne over the GTR... I mean for that price, you could get a used 360 these days, now THAT'S a car with style
This of course is just my opinion. Not trying to offend anyone. Everyone is entitled to their own ideas & preferences. Just would like to share mine & see what others thoughts are.

The 360 (Ferrari or "F-car") is a work of art and will always turn heads. The GTR is a technical marvel but does not even attract a crowd, for more than a few minutes, at Nurburgring. I guess the lesson is that cars are more than just numbers to many of us (me included).
I went to a 996 from a Caddy STS-V. The V is a great car - but it really is a tricked up pedestrian sedan. You can change tires and shocks and add on great brakes and some suspension tweaks, but it doesn't change it's basic nature. It still drives like a sedan. You can stuff a 469 HP engine in the thing - a real hoot to jump on, but it's really a custom car, built on a fine, but pedestrian, sedan body. It's a great car for people who don't want to spend the $$$ on an AMG MB.
FWIW, the shop that installed my Kenwood GPS touch screen, amp and speakers in my 966 told me that, under the trim, the Nissan has nowhere near the build quality of a Porsche. In essence, it's a really great attempt by a top flight sedan and minivan manufacturer to make a sports car.
It cannot compare to a sports car company's sports car. It's a great car for people who don't want to spend the $$$ on the real thing.
And that dealership in Greensboro is wild - I'm there on business often enough and it's dripping with beautiful cars.
