Ferrari seats in a Porsche!

I happened upon a good deal on a pair of 599 GTB seats (REAL Carbon fiber, memory foam, side and leg adjustments, plus all the normal adjustments). I was planning to make them into an office chair and one for my Nurburgring driving simulator.

After checking them out I took some rough measurements of mounting points and found that they were the same as the the Recaros in the 996. Some investigative pin out readings on the Ferrari seat and it was soon powered up and mounted in. The only fitment issue is that the back right (drivers side) carbonfiber trim piece rubs against the center console but some clear plastic laminate took care of that.

The 599 GTB may have some of the best highly supportive and comfortable seats I've ever sat in. I speculate that the reason that some Ferrari seats may be obtained so inexpensively is that the interiors are often personalized and only match the car they were built for and few people know that you can drop them into a 996. Mine have red incerts over natural brown (pics to follow) not a great match for my triple black but not wretching terrible either. The replacement cost of these seats are over 6K euro each but I found my set for about $1500 with 12km on them - like new. Much better than the Porsche sport seat for less $$.

Those 599 seats are really really nice, would love to see some pics. This is going to be interesting

If I remember right though, dont they have the prancing stallion logo on the top of them?

Pics are coming very soon. Yes, they do have a prancing horse on the head rest but it is a very light imprint and don't forget that Stuttgart actually stands for "Stud Farm" in German.

I found them from a high end auto recycler here in Germany. I don't have the model number.

I like the idea of it. For some reason, at least in the pics, the seats seem to dominate the interior more so than the OEM's. Have you considered refinishing in black to blend in with your interior? Not sure if that would even be a good thing or not? Just asking.

But, the seats, by themselves; LOVE THEM!
