Aircon bulbs to LEDs
The filter is really a diffuser to spread the light more evenly across the back of the screen, yours may already be a white filter fitted to later models. earlier ones were amber.

White does look much better than the pics show. I'm not a photographer and had problems getting a reasonable pic. Use the flash and it reflects off the screen, take during daytime and lights don't really show up, taken in the dark with no flash and you see the results. Best I could with my instant camera.

Aircon leds are a real pain in the butt to change. Best to swap them one at a time and check the new one is working before replacing the next. They are only 3mm square and really need careful soldering as they will start melt after a couple of seconds. The orange filter needs to be replaced with a good plastic white one or the colour is not so good. Hope these pics upload.

Any bit of opaque white plastic will do to make a new one.
The warning lights on the instrument / gauges will look red [orange in my pic]
The digital display on the instruments mph, kph, outside temp, mileage etc will
be white/blue [whatever leds you put in].
The analogue display voltage, oil pressure, speed, rpm etc will be back lit in white/blue [whatever leds you put in].
Hope this helps.
I guess that while you are at it, it makes sense to change the leds behind switches, as in

I have a feeling that, after converting those LEDs, the interior should feel visibly more modern/revamped. Post pics if you do it.

Here's pics of the aicon opened up. The small white squares are the LEDs on the circuitboard that need resoldering. The orange diffuser [replace with white one] can be seen and sits between the Liquid crystal display and the circuitry.
No, couldn't find the photo until now. The car is at the body shop at the moment after someone hit the rear wing when it was parked up
OK, so who wants to do this for me. I will pay a ridiculously small amount of money to send my aircon unit to someone and have them do this. Anyone by chance know of anyone near Philly that does/has done/would do this?
