exhaust tip question, I need some help
I just got the sport exhaust tips for my C2. They have the tips attached to a small piece of pipe. At the end, the pipe flares out a bit and this is where it attaches to the existing exhaust. It is held there by a clamp. I can loosen the nut of the clamp, but I can't seem to spread the clamp. Is there a special tool or is this job too hard for me to do?
Anyone do or know about this?
Thanks

Are both ends of the pipes flanged or only the tip side? Did you buy new clamps at the dealer or what?
ya, just get the pliers that open when you squeeze. It would work the best and its probably inexpensive.

I bought them at the dealer when I bought the tips, I figured if I couldn't get the clamps off(Didn't think I would have a problem since the car was new, but I would have cut them off if necessary).
And yes, If I recall correctly, the muffler side and the exhaust pipe that the tips sit on both are flanged, it allows you to adjust the tip position up/down/left/right to center them in the bumper hole without a leaking exhaust.
If you want pics, I will have my car back tomorrow It's still in the shop having the Wing painted(the body shop said they were running behind due to volume. Anyone know any good auto painters in the NJ area, their looking for more).

Acutally these guys I'm using do good work. In the past Allstate recommended me to then when they did my front bumper and hood on my audi and noone can tell.
This is the first porsche I'm bringing to them, but they did have a C4 in there having the whole front fixed from an accident.
The dealer recommended bodyshop that painted my aftermarket front bumper on my boxster I wasn't happy with. First off they made me paint the whole front of the car to match the paint(I've been told since then that this is crazy) and the paint never quite looked like factory.
This body shop that I'm using now is located in keyport/matawan area and is looking for more painters as they have a lot of work, but they told me they won't just take anyone that's why they are having a hard time finding more guys. They live on their reputation and their main painter has been there 25 years+
