Clutch for an 01 C4

So it looks like I need a new clutch and I am looking for suggestions for my 2001 Carrera 4.

I don't want a stock unit because I know down the road I will modify the car more. Let me know what you are using for those of you who have changed you clutch.
I have used SPEC in the past and have had good luck. For now I am leaning towards the SPEC Stage III which says it does have good daily drive ability. I do wonder what type of long term use it has though.
The Stage II says it is good as well but doesn't handle as much power. I look at the extra $30 bucks as a good investment for me.

Well seeing that a stock clutch is as much as a stage I Spec clutch I don't see me really saving any money but not going with it. Yeah, I will spend the extra $30 to get the Spec Stage II maybe just because I want it but either way I think it will be worth it.

How many miles did you get out of your stock clutch?

My car just turned 48K with very easy driving so such a low number surprised me. This is another reason I am not going with a stock clutch again.

One more question, so now that its clutch time are you going to mess with the rms or let sleeping dogs lie? I have a feeling I will be making the same decision soon. I don't mean to get you off topic too far.

To make a long story short, my car went in to my local indy for a leaking coolant system. They found it to be the expansion tank and recommended it be replaced. I also asked them to check out the tranny because my 2nd gear seems to just pop back into netural when the car was cold. They recommended replacing the 2nd gear with a new one that was slightly modified to fix this problem as well as new syncros and bushings. This was for the most part covered under my ext. warranty but to get them to pay was no easy task. 7 weeks later I get my car back which had a new problem. The tranny made a lot of noise in 1st, 2nd and reverse. I also noticed oil under the car the first night I got it home. I have own the car for just under 2 years and have never seen a drop of oil. The shop took ownership and sent out a truck and trailer to pick my car up. The said the oil was from the RMS and would cover it for free due to my issues when they released my car. While in there they recommended the clutch and fly wheel be replaced which is why I asking for recommendations with this thread on what to go with.
Trust me, that was the condensed version of this story. The shop has made good on the problems as now just as long as when my car comes back this time the car runs and drives perfect I will be happy.

Thanks for the Link chsu74, that sounds like the same model my indy is recommending. It retails for $899.

I have owned them on other cars so the noise doesn't bother me and if there is a problem with balance all the guys that work at the shop who have them on their P-cars would not recommend that go with one.
Thanks for the link though.
