cracked headlight lense.. replaceable?

i might get some projectors for my car off someone but the front plastic lense is cracked, would i be able to use my halogen lense instead? i'm assuming bake and remove the broken one and put the new one on? would this work? or is a cracked front lense.. just useless.

thanks

If it is the main lens, it is toast. Try the bake idea just for fun. I do not know of anyone who sells the lens. I have been wanting to bake one. Try about 100-125 for 10 min and up the temp slowly to see if you can pry off the old lens. Many of us have a yellow spot forming on an interior lens with no access. If you can find a way to take off the lens with out damage you will be a hero!

thanks for the reply, it is the main lense , i'm tempted to buy it to try it but don't really want to shell out the money if it doesn't work haha. I have baked tons of headlights in the past (i used to install bmw angel eyes as a way of making money in high school/even now) and it's not hard at all, i'm just not sure how the 996 headlights are held together, if anyone can come in here and let me know i'm sure i can figure it out

They use some sort of hot glue, I did a tail light and it came apart but I over did it and it bent. It was a throw away so nothing lost.

I separated my litronic headlights... there are some allen screws in the back and some rubber gaskets at the bulb locations. Remove all of them and toss it in the oven.

I baked the HIDs on my S2000 to clear out the orange with a new smoke colored piece. It was pretty easy but a little nerve racking putting a perfectly fine $1000 headlight into the oven. I put a damp towel on the baking pan and then put the light on that to keep it from melting to the pan.
